ACL Injuries

What are ACL Injuries?

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the key stabilizing ligaments in your knee. ACL injuries often occur during sudden changes in direction, jumping, or direct impact, commonly seen in sports like football, basketball, and skiing. An ACL tear can cause pain, swelling, instability, and difficulty bearing weight. Without proper rehabilitation, long-term knee instability and other joint problems can develop.

Recovery from an ACL injury focuses on restoring knee stability, strength, and movement control. Depending on the severity, treatment may involve surgery followed by a structured physiotherapy program, or non-surgical rehab in milder cases. Your personalized plan will include exercises to rebuild muscle strength, improve balance and coordination, and gradually return to your previous activity level safely. Expert guidance throughout the process helps you regain confidence and reduce the risk of re-injury.
